Last week, I ask that staff remove all the balls from the various ball pits in the gyms and classrooms. They would be impossible to sanitize daily. They will be gone through out the summer until we can get a fix on the pattern anticipated for the flu season come fall.
Also, this week I had all the magazines in the lobby thrown away and we will no longer keep reading material such as this out due to germs, specifically from hands, given the number of guests in our lobby.
Handwashing remains your best defense!

In the USA, there are 2532 cases (confirmed) and 5 deaths.
Illinois has documented 592 cases which is the highest number of any state.
In church, at mass, they are discouraging handshaking, drinking from the communion cup and placing the communion wafer (if Catholic) directly in a parishioners mouth.
In the United States, 470 schools had closed but have since reopened.
The Center for Disease Control has recommended that identified cases of swine flu in schools should dismiss students for 2 weeks.
Based on the 1918 swine flu, it was learned that school closures decreased mortality rates The median age of those contracting swine flu is 17 years of age.
